the oberlin QUEER wellness coalition

The Oberlin Queer Wellness Coalition, or OQWC, aims to increase communication and awareness at Oberlin College about the full scope of wellness issues facing LGBTQQIA people.  We will promote events including, but not limited to, presentation of resources and information, sponsorship of events and exhibitions, and creation of safe spaces for open discussion in order to enrich the health and vitality of the queer community of Oberlin College.

General Oberlin Support

The Multicultural Resource Center (MRC)

(Asher, the LGBTQQIA community coordinator is the best. Actually though. Come by and visit!)

Their Mission Statement:
The Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) produces, co-sponsors, and supports projects and programs on diversity and multiculturalism at Oberlin College. The purpose of the center is to serve as a resource for students who have been historically disenfranchised from higher education. The MRC works not only to support students of color, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students but also to address the concerns of low-income, international, and first-generation college students.

Furthermore, they fund projects—
OQWC is the proud recipient of a Cemelli Grant, get money folks!

The Edmonia Lewis Center for Women and Transgender People (ELC)

Located at 76 S. Professor St., the ELC board is full of intelligent, compassionate, radical activists who know a ton about LGBTQQIA issues. They each hold weekly office hours and have a badass library. Furthermore, the house has been used for art installations, poetry readings, and parties in past semesters.
Stop by or email them.
